The Environment, Industrial Real Estate & Urban Planning group assists companies with all environmental law issues (regulated facilities, pollution, asbestos) and public law matters (urban planning, public contracts, public property rights) they may encounter in the operation, acquisition, or sale of real estate or companies.
We conduct due diligence for acquisitions and sales to identify issues and propose corrective measures. In particular, we ensure the security of transactions by incorporating regulatory aspects into contractual documentation (sales, financing, structuring). We draft the environmental clauses of contracts for the acquisition or sale of real estate and leases, as well as liability guarantees in company sale agreements.
The team also assists clients with regulatory compliance, risk analysis and crisis management, supporting them in their dealings with government bodies and in managing complex procedures. We therefore handle all regulatory and contractual issues relating to property or development projects (building or operating permits, administrative requirements, right through to drafting contracts for the operation of solar power plants).
We have particular expertise in the fields of logistics, data centres, infrastructure and industrial sites.
We advise on ESG investment matters, notably by verifying the compliance of acquisitions with environmental regulations and by drafting energy performance contracts or contracts for the financing construction projects through Energy Saving Certificates (ESCs).
We provide representation in civil, commercial, and administrative litigation, as well as in arbitration or insolvency proceedings, concerning environmental law and public law, and we also offer in-house training on these topics.
The quality of our work in this field has been recognized by the rankings Juliette Bril achieved over many years in the Chambers, Legal 500 and Décideurs Juridiques guides.
